Government is highly concerned about the various reported border incursions and the closure of the main Guinea-Sierra Leone land border that is impeding commerce and the free movement of persons between the two countries.

Government is taking all necessary steps to resolve this situation amicably and permanently. To that end, His Excellency, President Julius Maada Bio is dispatching a high-powered delegation to the Republica of Guinea for further discussions with the Government of his Guinean counterpart, President Alpha Conde.
